Two Great Books About Escape Rooms
Do you love escape rooms... or just want to read in a variety of subjects? Check out these books!
As you probably know, escape rooms are locked rooms in which you and a team must solve a series of puzzles to find your way out. As you probably also know, escape rooms are a lot of fun! So, let’s discuss two different books about them!
The first book is The Mystery of Locked Rooms by Lindsay Currie. Sarah, Hannah, and West are three inseparable best friends and are very accomplished as a team solving escape rooms. One day, Sarah receives a foreclosure notice, meaning that she might have to move away from her friends. Sarah, Hannah, and West decide to sneak off to the forgotten escape room fun-house and find the foretold treasure to pay the money that Sarah’s family owes. However, this escape room is no ordinary escape room. It’s testing, spooky, even dangerous.
I spent all afternoon following these three characters along their quest through the extraordinary escape room that Lindsay Currie crafts in her novel. You should definitely give this book a try! If you’re interested, you can buy it through the button below.
(Btw Lindsay Currie is coming out with a sequel coming out in October!!!)
Next, I’ll be going over Planning Your Escape by L. E. Hall. I’m not much of a nonfiction reader, but this book is at least in my top three nonfiction books. It was wonderful!
Whether you’re going to an escape room soon and want to get some tips, you’re curious about how escape rooms are designed, or you’re just looking for something to read, Planning Your Escape would make a great next read. The book covers different types of puzzles, team-building, and the history of escape rooms.
The first half of the book, labeled as The History of Escape Rooms talked much more about other kinds of games rather than escape rooms. However, the approach to teaching about the history of games was good, but not what I was looking for in this book. Therefore, I enjoyed the second-half of the book more.
The second-half was great! It was very thorough and had a lot of interesting information. I would definitely recommend reading Planning Your Escape by L. E. Hall.
Thanks for reading!
